Job Responsibilities & Qualifications:
JOB SUMMARY

The MAT manager responsible for the overall administration of the Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) and other medication assisted treatment. This position will operate as the Program Sponsor and Program Director for the OTP (as defined by SAMHSA). This includes carrying out organizational program design and implementation along with fiscal and facility management. Responsible for the day to day administrative and clinical management services, this manager will ensure adherence to the medical protocols and guidelines under the direction of the BH Medical Director. This position maintains current knowledge of Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorders (OUD). Patients served have identified substance abuse disorders including those with dual diagnoses who are eligible to receive services through the CIHA/IHS (Indian Health Services). These services include services provided to clients in the Analenisgi main office location at the Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority (CIH), CIH satellite clinics, and assigned Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indian (EBCI) stakeholder locations (ie. Justice Center/Jail). Position will collaborate effectively with relevant stakeholders, medical providers, nursing, BH clinical staff, clients and families.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Masters Degree in social work, psychology or counseling required. Degree must be obtained from an accredited university that is accepted by appropriate licensing agencies in NC.
• Must be licensed in NC in specific discipline including Licensed Clinical Social Work, Licensed Profession Counselor (LSCW or LPC), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist;
• Must show competence in Substance Abuse by licensure/certification (ie. LCAS).
• Must have full CCS or be willing/able to obtain CCS (intern) credential, within 3 months of hire.
• A minimum of 3 years of direct practice with 3 years or more management/supervisory experience
• Must have experience in audit/quality functions and critical thinking skills.
• Must be approved for and maintain medical credentialing, upon hire
• Must be proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and electronic health Records/documentation software
• Must have 3 years of healthcare experience working within a multi-disciplinary team
• Must possess valid drivers' license.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

- Significant knowledge of individual, group and couples/family modalities with expertise in crises intervention with individual and families experiencing acute episodes of distress.
- Ability to ascertain the potential lethality of a situation and respond and refer accordingly.
- Ability to think critically and apply findings.
- Familiarity with SAMHSA guidelines and requirements for OTP.
- Ability to learn computerized treatment systems such as the Electronic Medical Record, Methasoft and others.
- Ability to maintain records and files manually and electronic on the computer.
- Ability to manage grant requirements.
- Ability to work within a harm reduction setting.
- Report outs to Executive Leadership and the hospital’s governing bodies on a regular basis.
- Significant originality and initiative are required in the daily performance of tasks.
- Significant knowledge of principles, techniques, and practices, and their application to complex casework, group work, and community problems.
- Significant knowledge of a wide range of medical, behavioral and psychosocial problems and their treatment.
- Significant knowledge of governmental and private organizations and resources in the community.
- Significant knowledge of the laws, regulations, and policies, which govern the program.
- Significant knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and their treatment as they relate to decisions regarding clinical interventions and appropriate therapies based on medical or psychological diagnosis.
- Significant knowledge of substance abuse to include diagnostic criteria for abuse, dependence, intoxication and withdrawal of all drug classifications, methods of evaluation and assessment, impact of behavioral health issues on patient’s ability to negotiate treatment recommendations, current treatment approaches, modalities of care, and substance abuse and other programs or services available to patients.
