Job Responsibilities & Qualifications:

The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is a role developed to work in coordination with the nursing leadership in the primary care department to ensure the work is accomplished effectively. The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is the first line support for staff, physicians and other related providers on specific clinical issues. The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is generally a long-term role, requiring clinical and interpersonal skills. The Clinical Nurse Supervisor collaborates with the manager on clinical and non-clinical issues (employee relations, individual behaviors, physician relationships, etc.). The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is the support for the department when the manager is unavailable. The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is responsible for supervising, directing, coaching and mentoring their assigned core group of staff. The intent of this job description is to provide a representative and level of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as a declaration of the total of the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position. Employees may be directed to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE

CIHA programs are established for the purpose of serving the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.  All employees should have a thorough understanding of the culture and the needs of the EBCI members, and of the general culture and needs of American Indians.  

Bachelor Degree in nursing from an accredited program required. Four years of nursing experience preferred. At a manager’s discretion internal employees with three years of experience who have past history of high performance are eligible. 

Applicant must have an unrestricted valid Registered Nurse license within the state of North Carolina or a state that is accepted as reciprocity.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire, must obtain other department required certifications through the facility following 6 months of date entering on duty. 
These may include Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC), Emergency Nurse’s Pediatric Course (ENPC).
