Job Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Primary Function: Primary function is to operate, as licensed, a variety of vehicles to transport passengers to and from specified destinations while providing personal care and performing routine tasks for eligible residents of the Tsali Care Center (TCC) and other pertinent duties as assigned. Will be responsible for carrying out resident care tasks in an independent environment. Secondary function is to perform pertinent duties as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Medication Aide (MA) as certified by the NC Nurse Aide Registry; the NC Board of Nursing, and within the TCC Nursing Department.

Education /Experience: A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education required. 
Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant and should already have certification as a Medication Aide or willing to become certified as a Medication Aide within 90 days of employment. 
Valid NC driver’s license required.  
Applicant must have at least five years driving experience, with a good driving record for the preceding two years required. Position will require three months to become proficient in most phases of the job.

Job Knowledge: Must have a thorough knowledge of the policy, procedures and guidelines of the Tsali Care Center, NC State Agency Regulations, and the CIH as well as applicable industry standards. Must be knowledgeable in compliance with applicable nursing home, state and federal policies, laws, regulations and Tribal personnel policies & procedures. Requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written operating functions. Must have the ability to recognize, create, and follow logical sequences for pickup and drop off of passengers in an efficient manner. Must be able to perform basic inspection of vehicles and to recognize abnormal operating functions in the assigned vehicle. Position requires driving skill and knowledge of health and safety regulations.
